Happy Days

Dear Pops,

It has been a couple of week's since I joined up with Katy and Jenna's #HappyDayslinky but I am pleased to be back and writing about our past week. I have had a few weeks away from my blog, partly because the last few week's have been a bit crappy and partly because I was doubting whether to continue with it. A break away allowed me to refocus and remember why I set this blog up in the first place. I started it for you Pops. I want to record as much of your childhood as I can. So I'm back and full of new found motivation.

I also want to say a quick and very big thank you to Vickie at A Pocketful of Dandelions for her kind words about my blog in her post What I'm reading #3 these words couldn't have come at a better time and they really put the biggest smile on my face, I still can't quite believe anyone reads anything I write!

Anyway on to our week....

Out and About

We haven't been out and about as much as I would like, but we have done okay. We have spent a couple of days at Nana and Grandad's so I could work on 'Project Christmas'  far too excited about this. We met up with my friend D on Tuesday and I'm going out tonight for a nice meal with some friends. It hasn't been the most eventful of week's but it has been nice.

Fun at home

I couldn't hold back anymore and we started getting Christmassy this week. We attempted some Christmas crafts. We made a paper plate snowman and a Christmas tree and did some Christmas colouring. We are still in desperate need of some new craft supplies so we are doing the best with what we have at the moment.

You loved putting on the stickers on the tree and were amazed when I managed to make it stand up.

You are completely in love with this snowman and when we finished it you kept kissing and hugging it and saying "I love it!"

We also attempted to make some salt dough decorations but they were a disaster. I used self raising flour by accident, I forgot to put holes in them so they could be hung and then I realised the only paint we had left in the house was bright pink. So they were a complete fail, but we still had fun making and decorating them.

Time for me

Because your Daddy is simply amazing (more on this in a minute!) I have a new laptop! I had been trying to maintain this blog on my phone and Ipad and it was a bit of a pain, but now I have a shiny new laptop there is no stopping me. I am waiting to start a photography course next year but in the meantime I have decided to do a creative writing course. I have heard mixed things about these courses but its only a short one so I thought why not! I started this week and so far so good. Its already taught me a couple of useful writing exercises that I will be using!

As I mentioned earlier I'm off out to dinner with friends tonight. Looking forward to getting a bit dressed up and relaxing.

I've made the effort this week to sit down and doing something for me everyday when you are napping. I have really been enjoying it and even have painted nails! (can't remember the last time I did that!)

Feeling pretty pleased with my me time this week :)

Happiest Moment

My happiest moment came on Tuesday. Daddy was unusually late home from work, but all became clear when he walked through the door with a shiny new laptop for me. He had stopped on his way home to pick it up. Although I am completely in love with the new laptop, what really made me happy was that he did it purely to make me happy. He knows that I am refocused on writing and wanted to do something to be supportive of that. Your Daddy is such a kind soul, he wants for nothing more then our happiness and we are so very lucky. In that moment I was reminded just how lucky we are that we have him in our lives and how fortunate I am to have such a thoughtful, supportive and caring husband.

Next Week

Is all about Christmas prep! The decorations will be going up and we will go to Nana's for more decorating there. Also next week a local charity bus drives around our local streets covered in lights with Father Christmas on board, so we will be looking out for that!
I have got some Christmas crafts planned and a few little adventures for us to go on! I do love this time of year!

Looking forward to a week full of Christmas fun with you Pops!

All my Love,

Mamma xxx
