Happy Days

Dear Pops,

It's #HappyDaysLinky time! I love writing this post each week, even if we haven't had the best week writing this always helps me to see the positives from the week. So big thanks to Jenna and Katy for hosting.

Anyway on to our week....

Out and About

The weather has been so miserable and you have had a stinking cold so most of our plans were canceled and week hid indoors for the majority of the week. We did pop to a garden centre which is always good for getting into the festive spirit and Daddy bought some lights to put up outside our house. Daddy loves his outdoor lights, think Clark Griswold and thats pretty much Daddy at Christmas time (don't tell Daddy I compared him to Clark Griswold! He won't be happy!)

We also went out for a little walk but we cut it short as you were tired and it was freezing.

Then our only other outing was quickly popping to the shops, so nothing to exciting at all really. Hopefully with your cold coming to an end we will do much better next week as we have been pretty rubbish at leaving the house at all.

Fun at home

My friend V came round on Monday night and had dinner with us. You love playing with her so much and will happily chatter to her for ages. Daddy put you to bed and she stayed and we watched the Royal Variety Show and drank prosecco. Unfortunately she did more drinking then watching and she actually fell out of the front as she left. Oops. I don't think I have drunk on a Monday since I was a student and Mondays were £1 a drink nights!

As we have been indoors so much this week we have been busy doing lots of different activities to keep the cabin fever at bay!

My favourite thing we did was make a Christmas house out of a cardboard box. You absolutely love it. You filled the inside of the house with Peppa Pig stickers and have been happily playing with all your toys in it all week!

I have seen a few posts recently where people have been doing potato printing so I decided that we would follow suit and do some too. I carved a heart and a tree into each half of the potato and you happily stamped away for about an hour!

After that we decided to get a bit messy and do some painting and finger painting. Although you have started to get a bit funny about your hands being dirty so the finger painting took a while for you to warm up to but you really enjoyed it in the end.

we also made a cardboard gingerbread man, another paper plate snowman and had some fun with play dough.

Then on Friday we baked some shortbread, you loved cutting out all the shapes and did surprisingly well at it too!

After reading Jennas post about slow cooker fudge I was inspired to make some too, it was amazing, so thanks Jenna!

You have really got in to the whole Elf on the Shelf thing this week and as soon as you wake up every morning you ask where Jingles is and excitedly run round the house trying to find her. Daddy and I are starting to struggle now, I think we got a bit too creative to early on and now we are a bit stumped with what to do next! Heres what Jingles has been up to this week.

Time for Me

I haven't done too well at this one the last few weeks and I can feel myself starting to crave some me time. So I am going to start today! Yay! I am going to get my hair done for the second time in 3 months! This is a first for me, I usually go once a year, when my hair just gets to the point where I can no longer control it! But I enjoyed getting it done so much last time that I made sure to book myself in for another appointment before I left! Once my hair is done Im going to sneak in some time to do some last minute shopping for stocking fillers and maybe even pick myself up something nice to wear Christmas day! If Im feeling really cheeky I may even squeeze in a quick coffee.

My Happiest Moment

Grandad has been quite poorly since having a heart attack a few months ago but finally this week he got a date through for his operation. It's such good news to know that he will soon be on the mend. I know he is desperate to run around and play with you but he just hasn't be able to recently and it breaks my heart. So it is wonderful to know that he will soon be able to be himself again, I can't wait to hear the two of you giggling together again.

Next week

Next week is a week of Birthdays, it Nanas, your cousins and your Uncles all in three days! So I imagine next week will be full of cake! Yay! We are also meeting up with my friend D on Monday. Then we are going to see the Coca-Cola Christmas truck and have a wonder around the Christmas market. I'm very much looking forward to getting out and about a bit more next week!

Love you lots,

Mamma xxx
