What 2014 Has Brought Us

Dear Pops,

This year has brought us our a lot of heartache. As a family we have seen hearts attacks, strokes, passings and quite a bit of sadness. These things have weighed heavy on our hearts.
I wish I could shield you from every bad thing in life, but I can't Pops.

I am afraid sometimes life is just hard Pops.

It is for this reason that Daddy and I choose to focus on the positives in life. And Pops for Daddy and I you are the biggest brightest ray of sunshine in the world.

While there has been darkness we have also had our fair share of light this year Pops.
Therefore I have compiled a list of the things that have brought us, as a family so much happiness this year....

1. You took your first steps! This was such a big moment for us all, we were so proud Pops. Now ten months on those first steps seem a distant memory, you rarely walk now you simply run everywhere! Such confidence in your stride. Amazing
2. When went on our first Family holiday. It was so wonderful to be a family away from all routine of normal life. Just enjoying every second we had together.
3. We saw your Uncle and Auntie get married. This was such a highlight of our year. It was a beautiful day for a wonderful couple.
4. Our first trip abroad as a family. I spent weeks worrying about you having a melt down on the plane but you were an angel, just so excited to be on the plane. You kept saying "we in space"
5. You turned one! One! This year has really seen you turn from a baby in to a cheeky little toddler.
6. We have settled in to our beautiful new home. We have started making it our own and couldn't be happier in our beautiful little home.
7. We have seen friends and family welcoming more beautiful babies into the world.
8. You talk. All the time and in the cutest little sentences. I love having conversations with you. You are so cheeky and adorable.
9. This is my own personal highlight. You told me you loved me. Best feeling in the world.
10. We have been on lots of little family adventures. Theres is nothing better then having fun with the people you love the most. 

There are so many other things we have to be grateful for this year, but these are my favs! I am looking forward to another year of watching you grow and learn. You truly do make Daddy and I so happy.

So goodbye 2014, but before we part ways lets make this Christmas amazing!
