Happy Days

Dear Pops,

It feels like it has been ages since I have written a Happy Days post but I am pleased to be linking up with the lovely Katy and Jenna again for their Happy Days Linky!

We stretched the Christmas break out an extra week this year as Daddy took the first week of January off. It has been the longest amount of time we have all spent together as a family since you have been born and it has been lovely.

Christmas and New Years were a lovely blur of food, drink, friends, family and lots of presents. This last week has been a bit quieter, just the three of us enjoying our time together as a little family.

Unfortunatley we have all been poorly. I have had the added pleasure of toothache and having a tooth taken out and then embarrassingly twisting my ankle (more on that in a min!)

Anyway on to our week.....

Out and About

The first adventure of the week was to the emergency dentist and getting my tooth pulled out. Not the start to the new year I had planned but never mind. After a few days moping around indoors with a swollen face we decided to get out and make the most of our time together.

We went on a little shopping trip to spend vouchers we received for Christmas and had a nice lunch.

Then tuesday we went to a soft play centre. This is were the ankle twisting occurred. You tripped on a mat and slammed down to the floor, I ran over to check you were okay and tripped in the same bloody spot. I tripped quite dramatically nearly taking a few toddlers out with me. Mortified doesn't even cover it! Thanks to that I have spent the rest of the week with a swollen and bruised ankle and have been hoping round like an idiot. The new year has not been to kind to me so far.

We took it easy on wednesday, only leaving the house for a quick trip to hobby craft.

Thursday we went out for a nice meal and then went shopping to get bits to make some cakes.

Friday we went to another soft play centre (no embarrassing incidents this time) and we booked to have your 2nd Birthday party there (2! I can't believe it, but thats another post!) then we went to have lunch and popped to Toys R Us to get a present for a party you are going to next week.

Fun at Home

Being somewhat in the wars this week I haven't been too good at creating much fun at home.  I have instead spent a lot of time watching you and Daddy playing with your Christmas presents.

We did make some thank you cards and some rice crispy cakes though.

Time for me

I have managed to get time for myself this week but only because I have been sulking with either a swollen face or a swollen ankle. I have managed to paint my nails and start reading a new book though. So I guess that counts!

Happiest Moment

I have had too many lovely moments the last few weeks to pick just one. I have been at my happiest spending quality time with the two people I love most in the world. I love you both more then I could ever explain and simply being with you and watching you together has kept the biggest smile on my face.

Next Week

Grandad is having an operation next week so we will be visiting him whenever possible. I am starting back on my healthy eating next week, I lost three stone last year and would like to continue with that weightloss. Other then that we have no plans and will be missing Daddy as he will be going back to work.

I love you Pops,

Mamma xxx
