Dear Pops,
Its that time of the week again, time to link up to the fabulous #HappyDaysLinky. Such a wondeful linky that really helps me to take the time to reflect on our week together. And on that note here it is our week:
Out and About
In stark contrast to last week and our holiday, this week we have been completely rubbish at getting out of the house. This has been partly due to the weather, party due to the mountain of holiday clothes to be washed and partly due to generally feeling a bit crappy and having a bit of the post holiday blues! So aside from a few trips to the shops and a visit to Nanna and Grandads we have been at home. Although we did take you out trick or treating for the first time ever last night. We dressed you as a wicth, classic choice (thank you Sainsburys for your fab £6 outfits!) and we took to you to both of your Grandparents houses. You were adorable actually saying "trick of teeeeatt" when they answered the door. You were spoilt with treats and even a beautiful wooden skittles set. Such a lucky girl, so adored by your family.
Fun at Home
This week we have been busy doing lots of Halloween themed crafts and a spot of baking. We baked a Halloween cake with a new egg free recipe, surprising how hard it is to find an egg free cake recipe that actually tastes good too, damn your egg allergy, but this weeks attempt was pretty good!
Halloween cake complete with chocolate spider!
We attempted a few crafty exploits this week as this is something Im really trying to make more effort with. We made (or tried to make) a ghost garland, although in your excitment to colour it in you ripped it.
We also made a paper pumpkin to stick on your door. You loved colouring and stamping this so much and were so proud to have it stuck on your door!
We put up halloween decorations around the house and got in the spirit of things. We are keen to make a tradition of carving pumpkins but this year you were too small to really take part so instead we let you choose a few stencils of your favourite disney characters and Daddy and I carved them.
Mickey Mouse
Woody
Not remotely scary I know, but we were pretty proud and you were so excited when you saw them.
Time for Me
We have been so busy trying to get back to reality after our holiday and doing all our halloween activities that I havent made much of an effort on this one, this week. With that said, tonight Daddy and I are going out and you are having a sleep over at Nanna and Grandads. I will miss you millions, but I am very excited to have some time alone with your Daddy. I am also excited that we will get a lie in! A lie in!! I had forgotten lie in's even exsisted! I forgot that not everyone is up at 7.30 on a sunday morning watching Peppa Pig!
Happiest moment
My happiest moment this week was a pretty simple one, but genuinely put the biggest smile on my face.
It was wednesday and we were indoors for the day so I decided to get all of your Happyland toys out and make a Happyland world in the frontroom. You got a few sets last Christmas but it has only been the last few months that you have shown an interest in them.
I sat back and watched your excitment at the little toy world in front of you. I watched you play for ages. Playing so contently, being so careful and gentle with the little people as you put them to bed, sat them in chairs and made them kiss. I just loved watching you. Just so overwhelmingly proud of the way you played, loving every minute of watching your imagination at work, acting out all kinds of things with the little characters.
Such a simple moment, but so special watching the amazing little toddler you have become.
I am so proud of you Pops.
All my love Mummy xxx
