Dear Pops,
Out and About
This week we have been out a bit but (I know this is a terrible excuse) its just been so flipping cold.
We have braved the elements and been on a couple of little walks, but we were wrapped up like Eskimo's. We have been to the shops, while we were out I bought you a Disney Junior comic which came with a Sheriff Callie hat. You have been walking round all week wearing it and shouting Ye haw! at the top of your lungs! So funny.
We went to Nana and Granddads to watch their outside lights being switched on, you were mesmerised and are now obsessed with Christmas lights. After your new found fascination with Christmas lights we also went for a bit a drive round one evening to spot some, I love the houses that are just completely covered in lights!
Then we spent a day up Nana and Granddads, Granddad has been a bit poorly recently so we went up to cheer him up/give him a headache.
Fun at Home
This week we have been getting into the festive spirit! Yay! We started by putting up our decorations on Sunday so Daddy could do it with us. We played Christmas songs, watched a Christmas film and ate party food as we did it. You are in love with the tree, you keep poking all the decorations and saying its the “Best Tismas Tee EVER!”. We went to the garden centre a few weeks ago and you picked a decoration for the tree and and you loved getting to hang it on the tree.
I have been contemplating whether to invest in a Elf on the Shelf for a few months but kept thinking that you were too small this year, then I read a post of Katy’s about her Elf on the Shelf and thought what the hell, its looks like fun! So I took the plunge and bought one that arrived on Monday. We have a girl Elf called Jingles, Daddy and I have got a bit creative with it, I just hope we haven’t peaked too soon! You are loving finding Jingles each morning, you have no understanding of what Jingles is here for but you are enjoying it all the same. To be honest Daddy and I are really enjoying it too (maybe a bit too much).
Jingles arriving via candycane zipline.
After a shopping trip to replenish our craft supplies we have been doing some Christmas crafts, we even attempted using glitter for the first time (this tested my clean freak ways!) but you loved it as you are a fan of anything sparkly.
We made a little tree for your room
We made some Christmas cards
we did some Christmas colouring
And we painted a Christmas decoration for the tree.
Time for me
I have spent some time doing my writing course which I am really enjoying, its taught me a couple of exercises that I am actually finding really good for de-stressing. Other then that I have been far to preoccupied with Christmas planning to do much else for myself!
Happiest Moment
My happiest moment was last night, Daddy took you to your room to get you ready for bed and I could hear you giggling your head off. He was pretending he couldn't find your feet and you found this hilarious, I just stood and watched the two of you from the hallway. I could have stood there and watched you both for hours. I know I'm a sop but it brought a tear to my eye. In that moment I knew I was the luckiest girl in the world.
Next week
We are meant to be going to a grotto tomorrow to meet the main man himself but you have woken up with a stinking cold so I guess we will see what happens tomorrow. Other then that we have a few plans but we are all expecting to catch your cold now……
I hope you get much better very soon Pops,
Lots of Love Mamma x
